Meet Matthew Hall

Matthew Hall was born in London in 1963.

He spent his early childhood years in the UK but moved with his family to the USA in the early 1970s. His father’s career in film and television productions meant the family was never in one place for very long. Time was spent in the southwestern US, eastern and southern Africa, and California, where Matt eventually settled and began a career in banking and investments, which is ongoing to this day at J.P. Morgan. In spite of his many travels, Matt always returned to England each year, where a deep love of shooting, hunting, and history eventually led to Belvoir Castle and a friendship with the Duke and Duchess of Rutland and their family.

In 2015, the Duchess asked Matt to take on the role of building the American Friends of Belvoir Castle to assist in fundraising and promoting the knowledge of Belvoir among our many anglophile friends.
